Peter Hitchens in the Daily Mail says something much more important than the mobil phone hacking. In return for the support of Murdoch press Cameron agreed to keep British troops in Afghanistan -the only promise Cameron has kept, a deal paid for in real blood.
Yates of the yard was a good on the ball officer. However he threatened to sue the London Evening Standard. There was a suggestion in a story they run that he covered up the original NoW phone tapping story. Due to the fact that while married he had an affair and a child with a much younger Met PR women. His concern being that, as with so many others , he upset the Murdoch press he would be subject to Sun or NoW expose.
